Rangabali Movie Review
Young actor Naga Shaurya demonstrates once more how effortless it is for him to play the boy next door. It is admirable how he portrays a person who is passionate about his community and takes on one of its powerful figures. His verbal delivery has definitely improved, especially during the warning scenes. Shaurya is also good in comedic situations.
Satya, a comedian, excels at his role. His comedic timing is flawless, and he uses amusing emotions and speech to make the audience laugh out loud. He effortlessly carries the first half of the movie. Goparaju Ramana plays a minor yet significant role. It’s entertaining to watch how he interacts with Naga Shaurya. The well-done comedic portions with Shaurya and Satya help the director achieve his goal of making the first half enjoyable.
There isn’t a compelling hook in the plot to draw readers in. The second half falls short, despite the director handling the first half successfully with passable comic bits involving Shaurya, his friends, and his family. The first half lays the groundwork for a strong second half, but the filmmaker is unable to take advantage of it because of the weak writing. The shoddy storyline makes the issue worse, making Rangabali subpar.
The presence of gifted actor Shine Tom Chacko in a role with insufficient screen time is unfortunate. His badly written personality and the lackluster face-off sequences with Naga Shaurya also fail to make an impression. Murali Sharma and Sarathkumar play important roles, but the director doesn’t make good use of them. They could have been given better scenes to be in. Anantha Sriram and other characters are useless to the plot of the movie.
Additionally, Satya, a comedian, seldom ever makes an appearance in the second half. Because it would have changed the outcome of the film, the filmmaker shouldn’t have cut his character. Particularly after the pre-climax, the second half is a tremendous letdown. The movie concludes suddenly with a forced resolution by the time the audience realizes what is happening.
