Rang De Movie Review
As Venky Atluri put it, Rang De is a “cute” love story with equal parts romance, love, jealousy, envy, avarice, comedy, and, of course, family feelings. Basically everything an Indian rom-com lover could ask for in a movie. Venky succeeds in breaking his own mold when it comes to some tropes, despite the fact that movies like Tholi Prema and Mr. Majnu have set the bar for what viewers might expect from the movie.
Little Arjun (portrayed as an adult by Nithiin) is the pride and joy of his family and the colony. Since he is the only toddler there, he has grown accustomed to receiving all the attention. That is, until Keerthy Suresh, who plays the adult role of Anu, age 4, enters wearing a pink dress and lovely pigtails to steal the show.
He is continually urged to perform better and become more like her because she is better at everything than he is. All Anu wants is for him to be happy so that people won’t compare her to him; all Arjun wants is for her to live far away from him so that people won’t compare her to him. What happens when she chooses to give him a taste of his own medicine since she is sick of his mockery?
