Pushpa Story

Sukumar is the writer and director of the action drama movie Pushpa: The Rise, which will be released in 2021. The movie, which was made by Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with Muttamsetty Media, stars Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, a coolie who turns into a smuggler of red sandalwood.

In supporting parts, the movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Sunil, Raj Tirandasu, Rao Ramesh, Dhananjaya, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Ajay, and Ajay Ghosh.

The story of Pushpa Raj, an Andhra Pradesh coolie who works in the Seshachalam Hills, is told in this 1990s-era movie. Pushpa works diligently and is constantly seeking for new methods to increase his income.

A smuggler named Konda Reddy approaches him one day and offers him a job smuggling red sandalwood. Pushpa first rejects, but after Konda Reddy promises him a sizable quantity of money, he finally agrees.

Pushpa rapidly establishes himself as a useful resource for Konda Reddy and swiftly rises to the position of one of his top smugglers. He has a lot of ambition and soon begins to fantasize about dominating the local red sandalwood trade.

His ascent to power, nevertheless, wasn’t without obstacles. In addition to the police, who are out to get him, he also has to deal with the Reddy brothers, who are also involved in the red sandalwood trade.

A man who will do anything to accomplish his aims is the subject of the dark and action-packed movie Pushpa: The Rise. It is a movie about people’s desire for power and their willingness to do anything to obtain it. The movie was a financial triumph, making over 300 crores in total revenue. The action scenes, soundtrack, and Allu Arjun’s performance all received appreciation.

Pushpa kills Konda Reddy and seizes control of his red sandalwood smuggling business in the movie’s climax. He is currently the most powerful smuggler in the area, but the police are also looking for him. Pushpa makes a promise at the movie’s conclusion to carry out his smuggling operations as usual and never get caught by the authorities.

Pushpa: The Rule, the second chapter of the movie, is slated for release in December 2023. The narrative of Pushpa Raj’s ascent to dominance in the red sandalwood trade will continue.

Pushpa Review

With Pushpa: The Rise, Sukumar forges new ground by creating a rustic masala movie with punch lines, people who speak in the Chittoor dialect, and a plot that is deeply entrenched in the area where it is situated. And while there were a lot of expectations following Rangasthalam, what he delivers is a mixed bag that is overly lengthy, falters occasionally, and fulfills its promises at other times.

One of the many coolies in Seshachalam who unlawfully cut down red sandalwood and sell it to the powerful by the kilogram is Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun). Pushpa slowly learns to establish himself in a large-scale syndicate of gamers, moving through the ranks until the man who used to cut down these trees is now the one issuing orders. The powerful men Konda Reddy (Ajay Ghosh), Jolly Reddy (Dhananjay), Mangalam Srinu (Sunil), and his wife Dakshayani (Anasuya Baradwaj) are not his Achilles heel, though.

The fact that his brother (Ajay) won’t allow him claim his heritage is what quickly sends Pushpa from zero to one hundred, and is frequently the cause of this laid-back, sarcastic, arrogant, and sometimes humorous man losing his cool. And just as he achieves his goals in life, IPS Bhanwar Singh Shekawat (Fahadh Faasil) enters, posing a challenge to the neatly crafted order that Pushpa has established.

The story of Pushpa: The Rise is one that is frequently addressed in movies: the rise of the underdog. Sukumar thus has nothing particularly novel to investigate.

The way he decides to develop the plot and take his time developing Pushpa’s character before plunging into the action is novel. The film lasts three hours. Despite all the fanfare, that is essentially what this movie is, so this move might not be popular with everyone. When Shekawat arrives in town, Pushpa’s opponents suddenly look little in comparison to his unyielding personality, despite the fact that he may have created a lot of enemies. When Sukumar’s movie keeps to the plot at hand and concentrates on the specifics of red sanders smuggling, Pushpa’s role in smoothing things up, etc., it does well.

Where the movie falls short is when it attempts to pull off a strange (and problematic) romance between him and Srivalli; this doesn’t always work or even forward the main plot. Yes, Pushpa has the opportunity to become her shining knight, but the plot seems to be moving in the same path anyway. Shekawat’s character seems unimpressive, and the climactic showdown between the two characters doesn’t have the anticipated impact.
