Parched Movie Download Filmyzilla, Bolly4u, Filmymeet, 123mkv, 9xmovies – Ajay Devgan’s production company, Ajay Devgn FFilms, worked with Leena Yadav to write, direct, and star in the 2015 Indian drama film Parched. The 2015 Toronto International Film Festival’s Special Presentations section hosted its world premiere. The movie premiered in India on September 23, 2016.
Parched Movie Story
The tale of four ladies in a Gujarati desert village is called Parched. Numerous societal ills, including long-standing customs and practices of patriarchy, child marriage, dowry, marital rapes, and physical and mental abuse, plague the village and society.
Rani, a widow, struggles to provide for Gulab, her teenage son, and her elderly mother-in-law. By paying a sizable fee to the bride’s family, Rani marries Gulab off to a child bride in accordance with village custom. Gulab, in contrast, is insolent, disobedient, and prefers to hang out with a group of pals and sex workers.
Janki, the young bride, attempts to break off the union by cutting off her hair but is nonetheless coerced into the union. Lajjo, a close friend and supporter of Rani in her hardships, also resides in the same village as Rani. Lajjo and her alcoholic spouse Manoj are married in an abusive relationship. Lajjo’s husband and society make fun of her for being infertile and so worthless because she was unable to conceive. Bijli, an erotic dancer for a mobile entertainment firm, is the fourth woman. Rani and Lajjo both consult with Bijli.
Rani and Lajjo travel to a different village to meet Janki and her family at the beginning of the film. Gulab and his cronies are seen intimidating a working-class woman till her husband Kishan (Sumeet Vyas) shows there. On a cell phone Gulab gave Rani, she receives calls when she is at Janki’s residence. Initial erroneous number calls from the anonymous callers eventually turned into flirtatious coyness.
Later, the community participates in resolving neighborhood problems at the Gram Panchayat. The first problem is a woman by the name of Champa who tried to get back to her parents after fleeing her husband. Despite her admission that every male member of her husband’s family had raped her, the Panchayat orders her to return. Kishan tries to step in, but his wife is mocked for their liberal viewpoints. Kishan, a forward-thinking local businessperson, hires women from the area for handicraft and loom work.
At the Panchayat, the ladies disclose that Kishan has a sizable contract for their handicrafts, and that as a result, they are willing to put money aside for the installation of televisions. The village’s men, particularly Gulab, are incensed by the elders’ reluctant agreement and blame Kishan for his attempts to free the ladies.
It is noticeable that the traditional and patriarchal village men frequently visit Bijli. Her boss is irritated by the fact that she has been declining offers for sex work and has threatened to replace her with Rekha, a newer, younger lady (Tanya Sachdeva). Gulab’s miserable marriage exacerbates his problems with rage and his misogynistic behavior against women. Gulab rapes and beats Janki repeatedly. Gulab and his pals threaten Kishan after receiving a threat from a pimp. Kishan and his wife were forced to leave the community after they first viciously beat him and destroyed his handmade handicrafts.
Bijli picks up Rani, Lajjo, and Janki and to a nearby fort out of frustration. Lajjo understands that her husband might actually be the infertile one and not her. Lajjo falls pregnant as part of an experiment in which she has sex with Bijli’s partner. When Bijli rejoins the group, she discovers that Rekha has been assigned to dance in her place. To gain money, she turns to having traumatic harsh sex with a number of men.
When Rani realizes Gulab has taken her last remaining money, she confronts him. He assaults Janki, then furiously turns around and goes away, leaving the women on their own. Rani sells her home the following day and settles her obligations. She frees Janki from her marriage so that she can get back together with her childhood sweetheart and pursue her education. Manoj starts beating Lajjo after learning about her pregnancy, suggesting that he was aware of his sterility. While Lajjo is present, he unintentionally stumbles into a fire and sustains severe burns. Finally, Rani, Lajjo, and Bijli resolve to leave the village in quest of a better life, free from the oppression of traditions, conventions, and patriarchy.

Parched Movie Review
The Times of India’s Meena Iyer gave the movie 4.5 out of 5 stars and said it “takes you into a disturbing and thought-provoking territory.” According to Anupama Chopra of Hindustan Times, who awarded the movie a 3 out of 5 star rating, “the larger narrative of the film is inert and clunky but the spirited female characters will stay with you.” Leena Yadav’s Parched is an intriguing beast of a movie, according to Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV, who gave the movie a rating of four out of five. It explores the erogenous desires of long-suppressed country women who are no longer ready to accept their constrictive veils, where Indian cinema rarely ventures without being predatory.
The Indian Express’s Shubhra Gupta awarded the movie a 2 out of 5 star rating and stated that “Radhika Apte, Surveen Chawla, and Tannishtha Chatterjee’s film is failed by too much violence and unnecessary gloss.” The Hindu rated the movie a 2 out of 5 star review and condemned it, calling it “Parched is an unconvincing indictment of patriarchy that feels staged.” Deccan Chronicle reviewer Suparna Sharma awarded the movie a 2.5 out of 5 star rating, writing, “Parched feels like it’s unsettled, struggling between wanting to tell a real story, but also keen on concocting a fairytale happy-ending.”
Despite calling the movie a “entertaining ride” and awarding it a score of three out of five, Rajeev Masand of News18 wishes that “Yadav didn’t tar all the men in the village with the same brush, except for a couple of characters here and there.” Rediff’s Aseem Chhabra rated the movie a 3.5 out of 5 star rating and remarked that “under Yadav’s able guidance, Parched genuinely shines.” He appreciated Tanishtha Chatterjee and Radhika Apte’s acting abilities. The film received high reviews from Katie Walsh of the Los Angeles Times, who said, “Leena Yadav’s “Parched” is a bright jewel of a film, shockingly hilarious, original, and uplifting in the way it takes on the delicate and frequently gloomy theme of sexual politics in rural India.
According to Alissa Wilkinson of Roger Ebert, who gave the movie a score of 3 out of 4, “Parched” is vivaciously alive, full of color, light, movement, and song. In addition to dancing, vivid meals, and sex, this film also has vibrant clothing and fire. Despite being dry, the area is surrounded by beauty. In his review of the movie, Justin Lowe of The Hollywood Reporter characterized Parched as “Well-intentioned, but wide of the mark.” According to Sweta Kausal of the Hindustan Times, the movie is significant because it attempts to honor the ongoing struggle against the unfair system of forced patriarchy.
