On August 16, 2019, Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures had planned to release it, however it was postponed. Hulu made it available on March 5, 2021, in the US.

Boss Level Review
The first view of “Boss Level” features a gorgeous watch face encircled by some sort of shiny gold material. The mirror image of the scene becomes apparent as the camera slowly pans back, and we soon realize that the watch is suspended from a Maneki-Neko cat jewelry stand. The once odd becomes familiar, but during that time, violence will break the familiar. since Joe Carnahan directed this.
Roy Pulver’s bed’s headboard is cut by a machete, and when the cute girl who was in bed next to him escapes, the very ripped Roy gets out of bed and kicks back at the attacker. Soon after, a helicopter flies over Roy’s loft and a man with a Gatling gun starts shooting through the windows. Roy is forced to flee his building and run to a street-level dumpster, where he jumps out to carjack a highly modified vehicle.
As the chaos occurs, Roy tells us in voiceover that this is what happens to him every time he wakes up and that it will keep happening until one of the army of bad guys who are trying to murder him for reasons he doesn’t understand actually succeeds in doing so. The process then restarts from scratch.
He offers a helpful comparison: “It’s like being stuck in a video game at a level you can’t beat.
There you have it, then. That is why the title is “Boss Level.” Frank Grillo plays Roy, a put-upon action hero who shows up to kick ass until he can no longer, and he is really amiable in this role. After more than a hundred attempts, he comes to the conclusion that in order to figure out why this is all occurring, he not only needs to kick ass, but also needs to take names.
His estranged wife (Naomi Watts), a scientist for a dubious mega-corporation run by a conceited would-be world-saving ruler (Mel Gibson), has the answers. They also, of course, possess a device (that sort of like a particle collider) that has the power to bend time and space itself, possibly ushering in Ye Olde Apocalypse.
