Beast Movie Review
The action-comedy genre was something entirely new for the Tamil audience in Nelson’s most recent movie, “Doctor.” The storyline was disturbed by some avoidable spoofs that were included to appease the hardcore masses, but other than that, the movie was enjoyable to watch. With Beast, he completely abuses superstar Vijay, ruining the fundamental, straightforward norms of cinema. Vijay, on the other hand, is coming from “Master,” a mediocre movie that Lokesh Kanagaraj managed to preserve. Beast provides him with a large, bulky avatar but lacks design and reason.
I don’t believe the Beast narrative has much new to offer you if you have seen “Die Hard” (1988), starring Bruce Willis, or its most recent Hindi adaptation, “Sanak” (2021), except from the action and fervent patriotism. Beast is the most likely result if you combine the two movies with a regional comic flavor.
In the movie, Veer Raghavan, a gifted and patriotic RAW agent, resigns from his position following a tragic and unwelcome incident. He continues to struggle with the trauma even after leaving RAW, trying to overcome it with a psychiatrist’s assistance. Preeti (Pooja Hegde), his lover, helps him acquire a job at a company and visit a mall that is ultimately attacked by terrorists.
For the purpose of mental tranquility—which has something to do with that previous trauma—Veer chooses to free the hostages. The rest of the story is made up of the difficulties he encounters throughout the conflict and how he deals with terrorists and politicians to complete the job.
This movie’s screenplay has a lot of issues. You have no idea how many terrorists are around because Veer simply dispatches them while still having a large number of them in his possession. Veer has counterstrategies for every terrorist move, even though some of his plans succeed and others fall short. I really can’t reveal them here, but there are a lot of surprises in store, some of them are pretty interesting.
The shoddy storyline and bad writing are what detract from Beast. Unnecessary humour hurts the movie because it diminishes the significance of a hijack, which is a damn serious occurrence. Hostages having fun and making jokes during the hijacking cannot be explained in any way. Too clichéd to accept were the passages about passion and envy. Come on, you’re being held as hostages by scary terrorists; exhibit a little bit of dread.
