On February 7, 2020, the movie was shown in theaters in Poland; on June 7, 2020, it was made available on Netflix. It attracted widespread notice right away, rising to the top of the charts in a number of countries across several continents and holding that position for one of the longest stretches in Netflix’s history in the United States.

Despite its success, the movie received generally negative reviews from critics who saw it as glorifying the Mafia and using excessive amounts of sexual violence in its sex scenes. It was compared to the Fifty Shades trilogy and is now regarded as one of the worst movies ever made.

On April 27, 2022, a follow-up, 365 Days: This Day, was made available on Netflix.

365 Days Story

The sensual thriller 365 Days was directed by Barbara Biaow’s and Tomasz Mandes in 2020. A young Warsaw woman (Anna-Maria Sieklucka) in a lifeless relationship falls for a domineering Sicilian man (Michele Morrone), who imprisons her and forces her to fall in love with him for a period of 365 days. The story is based on the first book of a trilogy by Blanka Lipiska.

Massimo Torricelli, the leader of a Sicilian Mafia family, is shown in the movie’s opening scene observing Laura Biel, a young sales director from Warsaw, while she relaxes on an Italian beach.

Massimo is taken to Laura right once, and after learning that his father was killed, he kidnaps her and brings her to his house in Sicily. Laura is given 365 days to fall in love with him or he will let her go, he says.

Massimo initially makes Laura angry, and she attempts to get away, but he always catches her. Massimo is a dangerous man, yet as time goes on, Laura starts to fall for him. She finds herself becoming addicted to his ability to make love because of his attraction to his strength and passion.

However, Massimo’s adversaries, who are out to bring him down, put Laura’s happiness in jeopardy. Massimo’s competitor Nacho kidnaps Laura in an effort to get her to leave Massimo. Between her affection for Massimo and her concern for her safety, Laura struggles.

Laura ultimately decides to stay with Massimo. Despite the fact that he is a dangerous man, she understands that she loves him. She is ready to take the chance since she is confident in his ability to always keep her safe.

In addition to ranking among the most watched Netflix movies globally and in Poland, 365 Days was a critical and financial triumph. The movie received plaudits for its erotica and portrayal of a passionate love story. However, it was also criticized for glorifying unhealthy relationships and for its inaccurate portrayal of the Mafia.

Two sequels, 365 Days: This Day (2022) and The Next 365 Days (2022), were released after the first movie. Even though they received mixed reviews, the sequels were nonetheless more well-liked than the first.

Although the movie 365 Days is divisive, there is no denying that it has captivated viewers all around the world. For many audiences, who are lured to the movie by its passionate scenes and forbidden love tale, it is a guilty pleasure. However, it’s crucial to keep in mind that 365 Days is a work of fiction and shouldn’t be interpreted as a realistic portrayal of love or the Mafia.

365 Days Review

What is the key to producing erotica that piques the audience’s interest intellectually while also stimulating their sexual organs? If the ‘Fifty Shades’ series is your response, you must stop right there.

The follow-up to Netflix’s blockbuster “365 Days” (2020) is a prime example of how well-fitting underwear and pity sex cannot disguise appallingly dull acting. Oh, and a script that was so awful that we wondered if it had ever undergone revisions after the initial draft was written, assuming we haven’t discussed it already.

It is obvious that the producers were hoping for a repeat of the pandemic’s success with attractive women, muscular males, and sexually free girls. There is nothing wrong with wanting to finish off a rager.

What the film’s directors, Tomasz Mandes and Barbara Biaows, failed to foresee is how the pandemic’s weak regulations have stoked a passionate need for sophisticated shows among viewers. With “365 Days: This Day,” the team collectively overlooked one important tenet of filmmaking: content is king because the reliance on explicit sexual content and BDSM was so strong.

However, feel free to indulge if you are only interested in it as a “good release” (excuse my French); it is sexual paradise. Even the glaciers might have melted at those bosom-hugging lace lingeries brushing against muscular biceps and tight abs. Simple mortals are we! Beautiful—BEAUTIFUL!—Anna-The chemistry between Maria Sieklucka and Michele Morrone in the bedroom is incredible; they inspire you in ways you never knew you needed to be.

It’s interesting to note that in this installment, Magdalena Lamparska’s Olga has her own conquests. Beautiful individuals set against fantastical settings suggest that Matuesz Cierlica thought of Sicily (and all of Italy) as nature’s finest creation.

But—and this is a lengthy and difficult “but”—what in the world was happening throughout the film’s production? They included a number of songs towards the conclusion that figuratively repeated back the words that had just been said by the performers, such as “Forever Young” when the girl friends are reflecting on their youth. Or, for example, the fact that they don’t even have a fundamental concept of acting, which makes it unpleasant for us to see them perform.

Other than sexual content, none of the four actors have given particularly poor performances. There isn’t a better way to put it. Among other evident inconsistencies, the emotional sequences smack of exaggeration (even though it was not the intention).

Get it? ‘365 Days’ has reportedly grown into a monstrous cash cow for Netflix, and rumours indicate that there will be more of it. It is pure bliss for an inquisitive adolescent. This movie will just make grownups with a preference for practicality lose all mental function.
